Uniforms have been a Girl Scout tradition since the very beginning. They help girls identify as a unit and also as individuals.
Each level has a different uniform with different insignia which shows what a girl has accomplished in the program.
When on field trips, the uniforms help leaders keep the girls together and also allow the public to know they are dealing with girls from an amazing organization. Generally, girls feel an immense sense of pride when wearing their Girl Scout vest, filled with reminders of all the hard work and fun they've had through Girl Scouts.
